Fascinated by magnet's invisible force?
You are in the right place. I find there is something about the strength and speed that a magnet exerts when interacting with another magnet that makes the experience unworldly. However this phenomena is one of the four fundamental forces of the universe at its most exposed, without any extended influence.

So what gives the magnet its property?
Normally the magnetic force is contained to the quantum level. But the crystals in a magnet have a unique property of allowing some electrons to be unpaired. The imbalance of an electron to not have a pair is very rare but the emergent property of magnetism occurs

Why are you telling me this?
It has long been known that magnets and iron powder have a beautiful interaction. That 'spike' that is created is a delicate structure with order. My artwork is derived from an attempt to capture that physical structure without a magnet holding the structure in place.

Were your attempts successful?
I will leave you to answer that question. But I have since worked on creating different shapes and colours to inspire wonder through the beauty of magnetism.

What happened next?
I found support from RC Sheriff Trust, a local charity, and got crafting 50 artworks. Having these artwork's subsidised and a belief that artworks should be accessible for all, I set the price of my first artwork for sale at £1. The artworks' materials and time to create clearly exceeded the sales price. However it allowed my magnetic artwork to enter peoples homes and be discussed. One of the takeaways from collectors is that the magnetic artworks is the most talked about artwork is their collections.

How many artworks did you sell for £1?
Only one. I decided that as my skill increased the value of the artwork increases. Thus the logical step was to increase the price. In keeping with art tradition I decided that I would make a limited edition and each would be priced the same as its edition number. Everyone likes a deal so the next price I sold for was £2. Sequential Pricing was born.

Every time an artwork is sold the price increases by £1. However the limited edition was set at only 9,999 artworks to ever be made.

That is a precise number. Why 9,999?
I had one neodymium magnet and the drying time of the magnetic material was one day. I worked out how many magnetic sculptures I could create in my lifetime and 9,999 was the number.

My favourite number is 7. Can I buy a specific edition with 7 in?
Sure. You can choose 7,777 if you want as its currently available. Therefore you would leapfrog the lowest value edition currently available. You could see this as a commission as I would take your requirements and make a special piece to your brief.

Commission? What is your process?
I would jump on a video call (WhatsApp is best) and you can show me your space and and tell me your needs. I would then give you a timeline and price. 50% deposit paid upfront and 50% on complete satisfaction on the artwork.
